Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for coordinating and managing the installation and commissioning of grid-scale energy storage systems starting in California and also covering customers throughout North America. The PM will be the Company's primary liaison with the customer on all issues. He/she will lead and coordinate activities between LGES staff in Korea and the United States, and between LGES and its project partners and main suppliers to ensure that the ESS project is completed successfully, on time and in compliance with the Company's contractual obligations. It is anticipated that the PM will be responsible for concurrently managing multiple projects.

Primary Job Responsibilities:



  • Primary responsibility for ESS projects from receipt of 'Notice to Proceed' through installation, commissioning and operational support.

  • Manage and provide in-country leadership to project team comprising project engineers, R&D specialists, installation and commissioning crews, subcontractors and consultants

  • Effectively represent the Company in all interactions with the customer, from project award through project completion, maintain relationships with customers' management, project management, commercial and technical specialists

  • Coordinate LGES's support of customers' site permitting applications, as required

  • Responsible for compliance with all contractual requirements and development of change orders in coordination with LGES's personnel in Korea

  • Ensure satisfactory development of safety, quality control, testing and system commissioning plans, and coordinate the preparation and submission of documentation required by the customer

  • Communicate with colleagues and customers as needed using remote/virtual tools such as cellular phone, WebEx, Microsoft Teams, and other similar tools

  • Oversee preparation of manuals, drawings, reports and other customer deliverables

  • Provide and/or oversee training of customer personnel

  • Coordinate maintenance planning and post-installation support with LGES's customer support team

  • Provide verbal and written project status reports to management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, in a technical discipline is preferred

  • Minimum of 3-5 years work experience in project management or execution

  • Proven record of achieving successful completion of complex projects, preferably in the energy industry. Experience with installation of energy storage systems or renewable energy products or systems to electric utilities or project developers are highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and presentation

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

  • Professional, highly motivated individual with a strong results-oriented work ethic

  • A strong team player who thrives in a role that requires significant personal contributions, and depends on the successful collaboration between North American and Korea-based team members

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a minimum of supervision

  • Comfortable working beyond normal office hours as required to meet customer expectations

  • Able to travel extensively throughout North America and to spend extended periods at project sites during critical phases of equipment installation and commissioning

  • Organize/host and/or participate in conference calls with project team, often across multiple time zones and sometimes outside of normal business hours
