Overview

As part of the learning and development team at Legacy, you'll use your expert knowledge of adult learning to develop and evaluate talent development and succession strategy along with a leadership development program. Your efforts will enhance the nonclinical expertise of our healthcare community. Through your efforts, you will help fulfill the Legacy mission of making life better for others.



This career opportunity is one that is intended to be onsite as needed at our six hospitals based in the greater Portland and SW Washington areas.




Responsibilities

The Sr. Learning and Development Consultant uses expert knowledge of adult learning theories and practices to formulate the enterprise-wide talent development and succession strategy. Leads the strategic design and implementation of the instructor-led leadership development program, as well as skill-building courses for managers, supervisors and staff. Consults with leaders across the organization to assess, trend and analyze the learning needs of leaders and employees based on current and future organizational strategy.




Qualifications

Education:


Master's degree or graduate certificate in Adult Education, Human Resources Development (HRD), Organizational Development (OD) or closely related field; or a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years' experience leading learning and development activities in large complex organizations, required.



Experience:


Minimum seven years' experience leading learning and development activities in large complex organizations. Healthcare experience preferred, but not required.



Skills:


Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide talent development strategies and leadership development programming from assessment to implementation.


Proven track record of working with leaders to assess learning needs and develop programs, courses and development activities to address those needs.


Expert knowledge of adult learning theories, methods, practices and tools.


Expert knowledge of and demonstrated expertise using ADDIE, SAM or similar adult learning instructional design process.


Confident facilitator and presenter to all levels in the organization.


Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.


Knowledge of e-learning technology tools such as Captivate, Articulate, Storyline and Camtasia.


Highly creative with design-thinking skills.


Working knowledge of learning management systems.


Leader with a track record of providing excellent customer service.


Ability to lead high profile initiatives, present approaches and plans to senior leaders and meet deadlines.


Excellent writing, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.


Adept at learning new approaches to adult learning and adapting to change.
