Summary: The Loan Boarding and Servicing manager is responsible for managing the workflow of loans coming in for boarding and funding and directs and manages all other post-closing, processing-servicing functions. They are responsible for managing and mentoring the Loan boarding staff and directing special projects as it relates to the core system.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the workflow/pipeline of loans coming in for boarding and funding

  • Reviews loan transactions and interprets the boarding/funding requirements, ensuring all prefunding conditions have been met and all documentation required has been received and signed by all parties involved

  • Gives the clear to fund, or obtains any necessary approval for exceptions/waivers

  • Directs each transaction to the appropriate Boarding/Servicing Specialist for funding and boarding to the Navigator Host System

  • Identifies the need for additional controls and/or deficiencies in the boarding, servicing and/or post-closing processes, making recommendations for change to the Director of Commercial Loan Operations

  • Directs and manages all other post-closing, processing-servicing functions such as, but not limited to, Trade References, processing of paid of loan files, exception tickler tracking for fees due, responding to subpoenas, and any other servicing issue that may arise

  • Coaches, mentors and trains new staff

  • Works closely with the Director of Commercial Loan Operations in the creation of all checklists, job aides and procedures as it relates to the Boarding/Funding and Post Closing/Servicing functions within the Commercial Loan Operations area

  • Works closely with the Controller's Dept. on coding needed at the loan level for the call reporting purposes and on the deferral process, identifying issues and resolving balancing errors

  • Maintains proficiency with core system, and works at the direction and in coordination with the Director of Commercial Loan Operations in the testing of all new releases

  • Accurately and timely enters the appropriate financial terms of the loan documents to the core system, including loan amount, term, interest, amortization and other data or coding needed.

  • Accurately identifies and enters servicing action items included in loan documents and builds appropriate notifications in the core system to allow for the monitoring of such loan requirements

  • Researches and resolves complex customer issues

  • Updates collateral records for Borrowing Base Certificates received from the Credit Dept. ensuring the BBC balances to the loan

  • Performs the second review of restricted BBC's ensuring loan is restored back to the correct coding prior to restriction, the issuance of payoff letters, and management of warehouse and/or floor plan lines of credit

  • Handles loans with special servicing needs such as Master Sub Note relationships

  • Investigates and resolves billing and other coding issues, and processes incoming payments

  • Processes incoming and outgoing wire transfers, include international and fx wires

  • Provides customer support post-closing, especially to customers with special servicing needs

  • Balances the wash GL's and the deferral GL's, resolving discrepancies and deferral errors

  • Non-post resolution, working with syndication and participation loans and coordinating with lead banks, processing syndication/participation draw requests and balancing those transaction to the funding sheet received

  • Directs special projects as it relates to the core system, such as the reconciliation of collateral items and managing 1098 reporting requirements for commercial loans at year end.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Strong attention to detail;

  • Strong verbal and written communication;

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in Commercial loan boarding and servicing;

  • Previous supervisory experience;

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Previous Premier Navigator or equivalent experience

Requirements for performing Essential Functions:

On the job the employee may physically be required to bend, sit, walk, use finger movements, handle objects (manual dexterity), and/or carry/lift loads up to 35lbs. The company requires the use of assistive devices or team lifting to help move or lift objects over 35 lbs. On the job the employee must mentally be able to read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason, and analyze.
