Technical Migration Engineer (Windows 10, O365, File Share Services)

Technical Migration Engineer (Migration - Windows 10, O365, File Services) required for an initial 6 months to work for a leading financial services technology company based in West Sussex.

We are looking for a highly skilled technical engineer to manage the transition activity of migrating new remote sites to the Company's standard including building and deploying Windows 10 laptops, provisioning new users, testing or replacing software on client machines, migration of file services and other server based applications.

Please note you will also be responsible for the planning and logistics managing the activity of migration to other sites.

Contract/Project Requirements

Travel to other sites to survey, liaise with third party suppliers, deploy new hardware, migrate systems and data.

Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user hardware, software, and peripheral devices, including telecoms.

Deployment of Windows 10 hardware for new remote sites based upon agreed timescales and existing documented build.

Accurately document migrations of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.

Manage the planning, testing, deployment or replacing of specialist or bespoke software applications used within the businesses and document the results.

Account Management - create, issue and manage corporate accounts for new sites following onboarding procedures for joiners.

Work with the service desk team regarding issues that arise prior, during and post migration from users at sites, prioritising as necessary and resolving them within agreed timescales and escalating to other members of Infrastructure, as appropriate.

Due to Escalation point for 2nd line Technical support queries from service desk.

Liaise with and provide education to staff on computer operation, new user training, Infrastructure Policies & Application use within the business.

Maintain stock levels for deployment hardware whilst keeping the inventory of all IT Assets updated for audit and tracking purposes.

Required Skills & Experience:

Demonstrable in-depth technical knowledge of modern client operating systems (Windows 10), and best practice IT standards.

Excellent understanding of Active Directory specifically targeting user and client machine deployment and GPOs.

Deployment of Windows 10 machine builds via imaging technologies.

Ability to troubleshoot user problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.

Excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills needed to report progress on weekly basis.

Proactive in booking appointments with clients as well as following work plans to hit scheduled targets.

Customer focussed and can present ideas and concepts in user-friendly language.

Experience in a technical support role, troubleshooting and diagnosing faults in hardware such as desktop PCs, laptops, printers, telephony and mobile devices.
