Partners with Executive, Corporate and business unit leadership, and various business partners to drive decisions and actions based on market intelligence and analytical findings. Provides actionable recommendations to achieve growth targets, support corporate strategies, and increase employee knowledge. Proactively collaborates with stakeholders and colleagues on a regular basis to provide impactful deliverables in pursuit of shared objectives.
Evaluates all information resources to proactively guide and develop strategies for creating and business executing data-driven solutions to improve and optimize sales performance and realization of growth targets.
Consults with internal and external colleagues to analyze and interpret industry, competitor and customer intelligence from multiple data sources to contribute to increase overall knowledge and design more effective opportunity strategies, strategic planning, lead generation, bid defenses, and presentations that ultimately results in growth of new business awards.
Identifies key company and market trends, providing early indications of threats and opportunities in the evolving development and commercialization efforts and clearly and concisely communicating their impact.
Leads and defines optimal data model and integration to deliver Enterprise level insights. Applies data aggregation, descriptive analysis, and data presentation techniques and tools to communicate complex findings in an easily understood manner and recommendations to achieve business growth targets. Defines and develops required information views for informed communication regarding market trends and business performance. Utilizes all available data sources within the organization.
Assembles regular analysis of sponsor and market opportunities by defining and refining market scoping Business Intelligence tools to drives action across the Company through timely, impactful deliverables that contribute to both short-term and long-term growth in opportunities.
Conducts in-depth analyses to address complex and/or strategic questions such as defining market opportunities and market ceilings. Uses knowledge of business and all available data to anticipate problems or opportunities where information can be leveraged both vertically and horizontally within the organizational structure to proactively drive early engagement, customer intimacy, and new business.
Partners with Marketing and Business Units regarding research projects to identify customer issues of diverse scope, R&D, and outsourcing trends and defines customer requirements and preferences to promote customer intimacy and bring new business lines to market. May manage large projects beginning to end including gathering requirements, project planning, delivery dates, and evaluation of success metrics.
Presents Business Intelligence information and insights to Business Unit leaders and executive management for internal and external presentations and to support strategic planning initiatives.
Acts as the strategic information partner within Corporate functions, Business Units, Business Development teams, and Marketing to proactively develop business plans and to collaborate and communicate on a regular basis in order to achieve shared growth targets. Monitor and report on progress against the plan throughout the year.
Promotes and contributes to a team environment by mentoring/training and sharing successful ideas and reports with colleagues in order to establish the groundwork for standardization and continuity of reports across therapeutic business units and relationship building within the organization to increase credibility.
BA/BS degree in Business or a related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education is required. An advanced degree (MS/MBA/MHA/MPH) is strongly preferred. Significant experience managing a business, market, and/or competitive intelligence function in the CRO, pharmaceutical or life science industries, or the ability to prove comparable experience in a related field of study. Proven experience in data modeling, data integrations, analytical tools, visualization development and master data required (Salesforce, CTMS, BI tools, SAP/Oracle). Strong understanding of data organization, statistical interpretation of data, synthesis of findings, and appropriate reporting. Thorough knowledge of research and analysis methodologies/practices as well as knowledge of sales, marketing principles, practices, tactics and tools. Proficiency and experience in industry-specific databases and sources (eg Thomson, Global Data, Informa, EvaluatePharma, and public sources).
