Space Science: Advanced Techniques In Hard X-Ray Focusing Telescopes
Posted on Apr 5, 2021 by NASA
The InFOCµS collaboration between GSFC and Nagoya University in Japan have been leaders in the development of hard x-ray focusing optics for astrophysics telescopes since its beginnings. InFOCµS was the first telescope to detect an astrophysical source with a multilayer hard x-ray telescope. We currently have a funded program to develop a hard x-ray telescope with 2. We have available the Swift/BAT hard x-ray survey of the local universe and we expect the NuSTAR and ASTRO-H medium depth surveys will become available in the near future, making this a especially timely field of research.
