The Enterprise Strategy - Retail team develops the Retail components of our long-term enterprise strategy, in close collaboration and cooperation with other business unit-aligned peers. The Senior Director will help define, articulate, and quantify the path to growth in Retail. You will help establish important priorities tied to enterprise goals; identify, articulate, and size whitespace opportunities for growth; and work with our partners to evaluate the choices and trade-offs required to achieve those long-term goals. As a core partner to the Retail President, the Senior Director will also take on high priority special projects to answer important questions about our business, our competitors, and the retail and healthcare industries. You will report directly to the VP of Enterprise Strategy - Retail and will manage a small team to meet our goals.


Primary Responsibilities include:


Work with the Retail leadership team, Enterprise Strategy peers, and business leads to develop enterprise strategy, identify priorities Retail must make to help CVS Health achieve growth, frame up tradeoffs and support leadership to make choices required to accomplish vision.


Lead development of new business opportunities for Retail growth, including scanning the market for innovation and disruption, staying current on essential consumer insights, and tracking health and retail industry trends
Oversee development of business cases for high potential ideas, including both quantitative and qualitative evaluation, and work with Retail and enterprise partners to mak investment case to executive leadership
Flex team to provide strategic thought partnership and analysis to Retail leaders as new challenges and opportunities arise
Manage special projects that affect the direction of the entire Retail organization, pulling in expertise from a variety of areas
Develop relationships with senior executives, peers, external advisers and cross-functional team members to support enterprise strategy implementation, with comfort operating in a matrixed environment
Articulate and able to communicate complex strategic topics to a C-suite audience, with excellent presentation skills and strong executive presence
Understand and strong interest in fundamental aspects of the pharmacy business and its components, particularly around the evolving economic environment and competitive positioning of existing and latest players within sector, and fluency with the broader healthcare industry
Work from home flexible, must be able to work East Coast hours


Required Qualifications


8+ years of leadership experience in Strategy and/or Corporate Development and technical/functional expertise in one or several of the following areas within the healthcare sector: management consulting, in-house strategy, financial analysis, public policy, mergers and acquisitions
3+ years of project management experience with complex, cross-functionals projects across all levels within an organization and relevant external constituents
2+ years experience leading the strategy development and execution planning of transformative projects from end to end, with both internal and external entities


Preferred Qualifications


Proven skills in developing strategic frameworks and storytelling rooted in relevant, fact-base and key assumptions
Simultaneously manage multiple high-profile and high-impact projects
Retail strategy experience including identifying and driving growth roadmap
Excels at solving ambiguous and complex problems with strong financial and analytical acumen


Education


Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
