The Director GBS- Metrics, Analytics & Business Insights will report to the Senior Director, GBS Enablement at Newell Brands and is responsible for proactively leading and supporting highly visible, enterprise-wide programs and projects across Global Business Services including Procure-to-Pay, Invoice-to-Cash and Record-to-Report processes. The primary focus of the role is to lead the development and operations of GBS performance reporting capabilities to drive world class service performance across the GBS. In addition, working closely with Global Process Leads and Service Delivery Leads, this role is responsible for analysis of GBS transactions data and deliver insights on opportunities for continuous improvement as well as tracking the impact of process improvements. This role will be leading a team of 4-6 employees globally.

Key Responsibilities

GBS Performance Reporting

Drives the GBS performance reporting functionality and insights to empower key business decisions for GBS and divisions/functions. In collaboration with Global Process Leads develop measurement and reporting mechanisms for appropriate operational and financial metrics (KPIs, SLA's, etc.) to be tracked and measured.
Designs, builds and maintains automated reporting and dashboards to track business performance metrics
Ensures quality of the data collected and works with service delivery teams to ensure accuracy of metrics.
Collaborates with Outsourcing Service Providers on metrics collection and reporting related to outsourcing contracts as applicable

Business Analytics

Drives business insights from data analysis, provides actionable reports including suggestions on potential areas of improvement and tracking impact of implemented process improvements.
Provides business and technical expertise for the analytics process, tools, and applications for GBS. Seeks opportunities for advanced analytics, continually strives to embed data and analytics in business processes and leverage analytics as a motivation for high quality data.
Consults with GBS leadership on using Business Intelligence data for predictive analytics and facilitating implementation of new tools and data sets
Partners with other GBS leaders to contribute to large-scale strategic projects as well as ongoing operational activities from a data perspective

Personal Attributes

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in executive level reporting, complex data mining and analysis as well as data visualization.
Ideally the candidate will have experience innovating and creating new tools and solutions to solve business problems. Professional curiosity is a must.

Bachelor's degree; MBA/Postgraduate Degree preferred
10+ years of experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in roles focused on driving service excellence through the application of analytics. Significant experience working with Finance of Shared Service/GBS functions including deep experience with global process and systems analytics
Excellent Excel, SQL and MS Access skills required and experience with data visualization tools or packages. Proficiency with Power BI highly preferred.
Strong technical experience with reporting systems and efficient data pipeline architecture
Demonstrated experience successfully using data to support change in complex organizations
Experience in managing and working in a highly Matrix environment across many different businesses and IT leadership.
Self-motivated with a process improvement mindset and the ability to understand the big picture, but also break that down into smaller actionable steps.
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
