The Enrollment and Transition Director, CSSI in collaboration with key stakeholders, will be responsible for designing and implementing guidelines regarding the process for a student enrolling and/or transferring into an Options School. In addition, the Director will be responsible for operationalizing an enrollment and transition pilot aimed at partnering with schools to provide individualized support and ongoing follow-up to students who are transitioning into an Options School to ensure they graduate high school with a concrete post-secondary plan. The Enrollment and Transition Director, CSSI will utilize lessons learned from the pilot to inform the district's future approach, and needed infrastructure, to support students transitioning into Options Schools.

The Enrollment and Transition Director, CSSI will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:

Through an inclusive process that includes a variety of CPS and Options School stakeholders, lead the creation of enrollment and transition guidelines for students who desire to enter an Options Schools.

Ensure development of print and electronic materials to inform students, schools, and families of the enrollment and transition guidelines.

Coordinate the creation of materials needed to operationalize the enrollment and transition guidelines (ie transfer to Options request form).

Provide ongoing monitoring, and as needed revisions, to the enrollment and transition guidelines.

Leveraging best practices and tools from the Office of Student Support and Engagement, develop a transition and enrollment pilot which:

Systematically identifies supports needed for students' transitioning into an Options Schools.

Works with the school and other resources to ensure these supports become available to the student.

Monitors the student to ensure the support is having their intended outcome.

Lead the implementation of the enrollment and transition pilot including hiring of staff, budget, creation of tools and materials, and data tracking systems/tools.

Utilizing learnings from enrollment and transition pilot, identify recommendations for longer-term policy and/or infrastructure at CPS that will best support students who are transitioning into an Option School.

Develop and implement training for school-based staff regarding enrollment and transition guidelines and pilot.

Utilize data generated from the enrollment and transition guidelines and enrollment and transition pilot to advise CPS departments regarding the reasons students are going to Options Schools

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Enrollment and Transition Director, CSSI must possess the following qualifications:

Type of Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree

Type of Experience and Number of Years:

Project management

Experience leading inclusive decision-making processes with a diverse (age, race, positional power) group of stakeholders

Experience building and scaling systems and structures within an educational environment

Knowledge of youth development and/or education best practices

Experience working in a high school setting

At least 3 years of managing people, processes, or programs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to synthesize diverse opinions and viewpoints into a unified vision and plan

Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

Ability to manage both a big picture vision while also staying aware of details and deadlines

Experience facilitating decision making processes
