Senior Director AP Strategic Analytics Systems and Support

Responsible for contributing to the development and execution of asset protection and comprehensive loss strategies, plans and operational guidelines to support the companys vision. Contributes to the development of policies and authorizes their implementation, ensuring the integration of corporate strategy and vision at the business unit and departmental levels. Acts as an idea generator, working with others as thought leaders and subject matter expert to create processes and tactics that drive the company to achieve overall performance outcomes in areas of shrink, safety and security. Directs and controls the activities of comprehensive loss through senior managers and peers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of those assigned areas. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. Creates and fosters a high performance culture, directing the development of innovative processes and solutions to complex, organization-wide challenges.
Responsible for overseeing and driving the comprehensive loss program withing asset protection. Accountable for ideation, analytics, program management, scorecarding and deliverables of targets.
Directs and/or oversees processes and approaches, working with long-term perspective. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. Directs strategy for tools, reporting, and analysis related to company's vision for comprehensive loss.
Responsible for innovative approaches within APS insights and analytics from reactive to proactive strategy. Assesses, identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, proving strategy and direction for APS insights and analytics. Erroneous decisions may have a long term effect on the overall success of the business unit and potentially the company.
Directly responsible for interacting and influencing cross-functional stakeholders in the organization (eg, with Retail Products and Pharmacy division heads). Responsible for transforming insights and analytics strategy across all APS functional areas (including Safety, Security, Field Operations, and Supply Chain).
Creates and fosters high performance culture, focused on engagement, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Makes decision about resource allocation (people and financial) within scope of responsibility.
Owns and manages relationships with third party service providers, including partner selection, contract negotiation, and performance management. Has direct impact on short- and long-term results, divisional in scope. Makes resource and investment allocation decisions in support of the vision and strategy to satisfy customer needs.
Provides advanced leadership to analyze/minimize risk and detect/prevent comprehensive loss. Transfers knowledge across functions and Walgreen Co. Divisions in support of broad organizational goals.
Monitors industry trends, best practices, and regulatory issues as they relate to specific area(s) of responsibility and shares learnings, as appropriate, with direct reports and peers. Oversees formulation of operating guidelines which promote leadership, collaboration, and supports decision- making at the lowest appropriate level.
Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Bachelors Degree and at least 8 years of professional experience in the public or private sector OR a Bachelors Degree and at least 11 years of experience internally at Walgreens in an asset protection or loss prevention role.
Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a Matrix organization
Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels and business units of the organization as well as with vendors.
Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial business decisions in the workplace.
At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross functional team leadership.
Willing to travel up to/at least 15% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Relevant business and operational experience in retail industry.
