Oversight of the day to day operation of the prospective cohorts 60 %
Serves as a primary contact for Institute Director and Prospective Cohort faculty in the implementation of research protocols
Reviews preliminary protocols, associated documents and communicates to study teams.
Assesses protocol requirements and prepares site for study procedures.
Develops protocol documents: Informed Consent Forms, Source Documents, and other protocol specific documents with the appropriate faculty and staff.
Collaborates with the Institute Director and the Prospective Cohort faculty to create, implement and assess compliance with relevant policies and procedures to support the logistics of all ongoing study protocols.
Working closely with the Institute's IRB Specialist, oversees interaction with IRBs (including submissions, protocol content, progress reports, modifications, etc.) and research administration assuring timely compliance with all IRB and regulatory requirements
Collaborates with Finance and Admininstration, the Institute Director, faculty and staff to assure that activities stay within study reasonable and accurate budget for study implementation and ongoing activities.
Independently establishes work plan, timeline, and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges assignment of projected personnel (including but not limited to the hiring, scheduling, management and evaluation of staff).
Collaborates with Finance and Administration, the Institute Director, and Faculty and Staff to develop budgets for study implementation
Collaborates with Finance and Administration to monitor budgets to ensure that study implementation and ongoing activities stay within budget
Communicates progress with Institute Director and the Prospective Cohort faculty
Works with the Data Core on electronic data systems and data management
Works with the Institute Director and the Hassenfeld Communications and Outreach Manager around study promotion and Institute communications
Strategic planning and new proposal development 30%
Supports the the Institute and Prospective Cohort leadership in ongoing strategic planning for the Prospective Cohort.
Works with the Institute Director, faculty and staff in the development of new protocol documents: Informed Consent Forms, Source Documents, and other protocol specific documents with the appropriate faculty and staff.
Works with faculty proposing studies, the Finance and Administration team and other relevant faculty and staff to develop budgets for new proposals that will be sufficient to support the proposed studies
Collaborates with the Institute Director, faculty and staff to create relevant policies and procedures to support the logistics of all new study protocols.
Provides expertise and support for Institute wide activities 10%
Interviewer training and input on protocols
Works closely with study coordinators to oversee prospective staff including training, quality and safety
Complete annual evaluations of Prospective Cohort staff
Provide general support for activities supporting the Institute's mission
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
Education
Required: Master's degree in a related field required
Preferred: PhD or doctoral-level degree
Experience
At least 3-5 years project management and 2-3 years research experience preferred
Job Competencies
Supervisory experience required, including hiring, training and evaluating staff.
Demonstrated ability to develop, understand and explain protocols (inclusion/exclusion criteria, demographics, disease prevalence) and procedures related to survey research and follow up.
Experience in developing budgets and delivering services within budget.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Enthusiastic and professional attitude.
Proficiency with survey software (particularly REDCap), MS Office and the Web
Experience conducting interviews and follow up in clinical settings
Knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse communities
