Area Director of Education

In collaboration with the educators and administrative leaders, identifies needed staff education at the area hospitals.
Develops short term and long term area hospital educational goals based on identified needs through the hospitals Quality Councils, annual assessments and recruitment/retention needs.
Collaborates with area educators, hospital managers and peers to evaluate staff competencies.
Has functional oversight of the Education Coordinators of the designated area and manages the planning, coordination and teaching of continuing education and in-service education for the identified area hospitals, including General Orientation, monthly education calendars, and Support Center compliance agreement.
Local travel required between facilities.
As an Area Director of Education you will have
Bachelors degree required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Masters degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or clinical specialty preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.
BCLS Certification- required.
Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred.
Minimum of five years experience in healthcare administration/management with a minimum of two years experience in hospital management and/or leadership in clinical education in an inpatient acute care environment.
