AWS is looking for a strategic leader to scale the reach, adoption, and impact of our education, certification, and workforce programs in the United States. The portfolio of AWS Education programs includes AWS Academy, AWS Educate, and more.
In this role, you will lead a team of domestic Program Managers responsible for implementing AWS Education programs at academic institutions and K12 school districts. You and your team will own the relationship with institutions, educators, and employers who share our mission to hire students into cloud jobs. You will also identify and establish high-level relationships and partnerships with senior education leaders to increase the awareness of AWS education and workforce programs. You will evangelize the value of cloud careers and AWS industry credentials to internal and external customers.
The leader in this role requires a strong bias towards ownership, a track record of delivering measurable results, and a deep understanding of the education system in the US. Roles & Responsibilities
Define the field strategy for the US Program Management team.
Lead the team to develop opportunities for ongoing program growth, including identifying external demand for cloud curricula and cloud computing jobs.
Lead the team to execute against a set of annual goals and KPIs including number of new institutions, educators, students enrolled in AWS Education programs, and students placed into cloud jobs.
Lead the team to facilitate regional planning and implementation, including needs assessments and progress monitoring.
Work cross-functionally with Sales, AWS Training & Certification, Employer Engagement, Technical, Policy, and Marketing teams.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders including top-level education administrators, faculty, government leaders, C-suite executives, and employers.
Gather customer feedback to inform and influence current and future education and workforce development programs.
10+ years of relevant experience in higher education, workforce development leadership, and managing teams.
10+ years of relevant experience in program management, business development, or enterprise sales.
5+ years of experience working in technology or fast-paced entrepreneurial environments.
Exceptional public presentation and communication skills with proven ability to write complex business documents.
Ability to analyze data and distill insights to inform business decisions.
Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills, with established experience influencing senior management or C-level audiences.
Ability to operate independently in a highly ambiguous and complex environment.
Ability to travel domestically up to 30%
Familiarity with Cloud Computing, AWS services, or IT.
A background in higher education (eg faculty experience), K12, public policy, or workforce development.
MBA/Graduate degree in relevant field.
