The Director, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations is responsible for the development, execution, and assessment of Reata's internal and external communication strategy and assisting with investor relations. This includes developing communications and messaging strategies, executing public and media relations programs, monitoring publicity, managing internal communications programs and content, formulating, and implementing plans. This position regularly provides strategic counsel on communications matters to business and functional leaders throughout the enterprise and collaborates closely with other stakeholders to ensure alignment of messaging, strategy, and execution with employees and in the market.


Identifies and develops company news and information, develop contents and/or output, secures all necessary approvals, for channels including, but not limited to:
Press releases
Presentations, technical articles, conference papers
Investor-facing material
Oversees all corporate social media activities for Reata including planning and creating content
Develops communications that support pipeline communications strategy and activities as well as oversees product launch PR
Assists with Reata's Investor Relations activities
Assist in responding to investor inquiries
Schedules meetings and calls with investors
Manages investor conference schedules
Maintains list of investor meetings and contact information
Manages investor CRM and distribution of investor materials
Fosters media and influencer relationships, identifies and secures editorial opportunities that support the global communications plan
Monitors all media channels, measure and report company publicity and adjust media strategies accordingly
Plan, develop and manage internal communications channels including the company's Intranet and other internal communications tactics to drive employee engagement, satisfaction, and productivity
Serves as a key media contact; builds and maintains relationships with media and investment community
Acts as business owner for Reata's internal and external websites, with responsibility for content, architecture, and design
Plan, direct, coordinate, budget for, and evaluate the impact of all corporate communications
Assist in planning and organizing media activities at major medical congress. Prepare management for interviews with media and other key corporate communications interactions
In partnership with Human Resources, develops effective employee communications plans that strengthen recruitment, employee value proposition, engagement, and support to advance our thriving culture
Works collaboratively across a variety of functions to support communications goals and ensure alignment with Reata's overall strategy


Up to six years of professional experience in investor relations and/or corporate communications, and social media management in the biopharmaceutical or health care industry
Minimum of bachelors degree in a related field, such as English, communications, or a life science
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail
Self-starter, detailed-oriented individual with proven track record implementing social media campaigns, working on global initiatives, and working in cross-functional teams
Ability to jump into a fast-moving environment and absorb information quickly
Strong interpersonal skills, personal organization, and integrity
Ability to communicate technical information for understanding across variety of audiences
Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines and changing priorities
Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information and use excellent judgment on a variety of sensitive subjects
