We are currently seeking a qualified, highly motivated, experienced Executive Director, Program Management to head our Program Management department. The position reports to the Vice President, Development Operations. The location of the position is in Brisbane, CA.


Summary Description


The Executive Director, Program Management is responsible for leading the Program Management department to create the vision, drive the development and manage the execution of product development at Myovant. Program management must deliver scalable fit-for purpose approaches and strategies as Myovant continues its rapid transition as a commercial-stage organization. This position is also responsible for establishing and implementing efficient governance related to product lifecycle to ensure timely decision making and effective organizational communication.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


Program Management at Myovant facilitates a variety of cross-functional project teams focused on product development and lifecycle management, including global regulatory filing teams. All teams are structured with a team leader and project manager.


The Executive Director, Program Management will foster the development of Program Management at Myovant:


Elevate the role of Program Management in the organization as a central source of information and broaden communication channels to facilitate team productivity
Ensure that Program Managers partner closely with Team Leaders and key stakeholders to translate agreed project strategy into high-quality, realistic, cross-functional integrated project plans and drive their execution by facilitating decisions and operations and proactively removing obstacles that create impediments to team effectiveness
Establish/improve efficient governance related to the product lifecycle that delivers timely decision making and effective multi-level organizational communication
Establish/improve dashboard reporting to meet the needs of key stakeholders and set standards/requirements for record keeping
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with executive leadership, key stakeholders and where relevant, alliance partners essential to project success
Directly manage one or more governance committees including planning, scheduling and operational aspects
Partner with FP&A and engage with key stakeholders across the organization to align on assumptions to facilitate budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
Lead the identification and implementation of readily accessible user-friendly technology solutions that support the department's objectives
Recruit, motivate, coach, and retain program management staff
Foster close collaboration with Alliance Management to ensure alignment on partnered projects. In addition to providing project management to alliance governance committees, project managers may also have alliance manager responsibilities

Thorough understanding of, and experience implementing, project management best practices to guide cross-functional teams including familiarity with current technology for monitoring and reporting progress
Establishing and implementing portfolio management and strategic planning initiatives; ability to think strategically across programs
Demonstrated ability to impact both strategic and tactical initiatives
Conducting risk analysis, decision analysis and contingency planning
Establishing and implementing budget management and resource capacity planning
Robust experience of product development and lifecycle management with advanced understanding of other functions
Managing cross-functional teams in all phases of product development and lifecycle management including product launch
Relevant therapeutic area knowledge preferred

Self-motivated, with the ability to take independent ownership of agreed projects and initiatives
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). In depth experience with collaborative tools such as MS Project and Smartsheet


REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a relevant field, advanced degree is a plus
Professional qualification in project management such as PMP certification preferred
Minimum of 15 years of industry experience within the Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industry, or other Healthcare related field. Experience with both large and small companies preferred
Minimum of 10 years in Program Management inclusive of at least 5 years of line management experience and previous department leadership experience
Demonstrated experience developing and scaling Program Management in a rapidly evolving environment including championing organizational change management
Extensive experience coaching, motivating, and developing direct reports at multiple different levels and mentoring others in the department
