The Associate Director/Director, Hematology Global Center of Excellence reports to the Executive Director, CoE. Working closely with the ED, the Associate Director/Director will collaborate with the development teams throughout the drug development process to identify and optimize communication tools, processes and deliverables required to navigate and achieve development milestones.


Working directly with peers, leadership, scientists and other applicable stakeholders to build processes and best practices to support and drive efficient development plans that ensure a robust understanding of the business and technical challenges and associated risks with product development programs in the portfolio. In this capacity the Associate Director/Director will contribute to the strategic execution of program deliverables to support advancing the development pipeline within hematology/immunology/inflammation programs and all assets through their regulatory approval. Working closely with the ED, the Associate Director/Director will advise teams in their accountabilities with regard to the clinical development programs.


Essential Functions of the job


Communicate with Core Team leads from early to late stage development and cross functional committees
Communicate consistent and rigorous approaches across all programs, provide project leadership to contribute to the creation of strategic and integrated product development plans which are aligned with business objectives in order to help ensure high quality filings and progressive development plans.
Provide strategic input into the technical and clinical development plans.
Build strong relationships with peers and functional leads
Responsible for maintaining a high degree of effectiveness through collaboration and influence
Ability to advise and motivate teams in a highly matrixed environment
Identify continuous process improvement opportunities
Develop, track, execute and report on goals and objectives
Be accountable for compliant business practices


Supervisory Responsibilities:


No expectation for supervisory responsibilities; however, future may entail supervisory roles


Key Skills Required:


7-10 years in the pharmaceutical industry and/or management consulting firm focused in one of the following areas: clinical development, product development, program management, clinical operations or regulatory affairs
The successful candidate will have oncology clinical drug development experience, demonstrated leadership, and be able to critically navigate the science that underlies these programs
Demonstrated ability to operate within a dynamic global environment and ability to influence without authority as part of a Matrix organization
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects efficiently
Experience facilitating process optimization and process change initiatives in a cross-functional setting.
The candidate should be able to effectively communicate across a broad range of audiences and have an ability to clearly articulate and recommend project specific strategies and priorities to senior management.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, with an ability to interact at all levels of an organization
This individual is expected to develop and maintain relationships with BGN functional area leads on a global scale working cross-functionally and cross-culturally in support of business processes and/or systems, especially as they relate to the clinical development organization
Strong and effective strategic thinker and problem solver with high degree of emotional intelligence, and the ability to both recognize and anticipate problems.
Demonstrated ability to translate solutions into viable action plans at a global level that are effectively disseminated and implemented through cooperation of stakeholders.


Education Required:


BS, with advanced degree preferred, in a scientific or healthcare discipline


Computer Skills:


Skilled in multiple computer-based tools, in addition to software programs such as Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.


Travel:


25 - 33% Travel May be Expected/Location: US
