Vir Biotechnology is seeking a qualified Director-level candidate to help build the global market access, pricing and reimbursement strategies for early and late stage pipeline products. The Director will evaluate the pricing and reimbursement landscape and provide strategic insights to inform product development. The position will also support internal and external commercial partners in developing and implementing pricing and market access strategies.


Lead development of Global Value and Access strategy for Vir's late-stage clinical program and indications
Conduct payer and policy partner research to understand value perception and drivers, pricing/reimbursement landscape, evidence requirements and test value messages
Define payer evidence needs and communicate to product development teams to ensure appropriate clinical trial designs in order to support pricing and reimbursement in key markets
Develop innovative value-based pricing strategies to allow for optimized market access and maximization of profitability goals; set global pricing goals for implementation
Create strong working relationships and partnerships with Health Economics, Global Product Strategy, Global Portfolio Market Planning, Competitive Intelligence, Alliance Management, Clinical and Program Teams to align on target product profiles, indications, populations and commercial strategy for integrated product development
Work closely with external commercial partners in developing and implementing value messaging, pricing and market access strategies
Develop payer value messages, deliver dossier and tools to support coverage and reimbursement applications in collaboration with Health Economics
Identify key market access partners and design payer customer engagements in collaboration with commercial and medical affairs teams
Support Business Development due diligence efforts by using pricing and market access expertise to advise commercial assessments of potential partnerships/acquisitions


Strong understanding of global payer environment, including coverage, coding and reimbursement, pricing and contracting, formulary management, HTA and payment policy
Experience with global pricing and reimbursement negotiations and a successful track record with HTA agencies
Experience developing global value and access strategies, including developing global value messages, dossier and tools to support launch implementation in key markets
Successful track record in partnering with external, agencies and consultancies to deliver pricing and market access programs
Proven ability to think strategically and make sound pricing and market access recommendations
PhD/MD/PharmD/MS/MPH/MBA with 10+ years of relevant global biopharmaceutical industry experience
