Senior Director, Procurement

The Senior Director, Procurement is responsible for overseeing purchasing and procurement activities, including purchasing of equipment across the organization, working closely with the Supply Chain organization, leading the procurement function and driving greater strategic & financial value from procurement activities for FMI. The position collaborates with a breadth of senior level stakeholders on FMI's objectives requiring procurement, and ensures compliance, strategic sourcing and cost-effectiveness. The position is responsible for planning and strategy related to purchasing initiatives as well as related negotiation and the monitoring of contracts. This role is responsible for FMIBuy, FMI's Coupa implementation to support procurement. This role has regional and global responsibility for identified spend categories and provides guidance for other spend categories as requested.

Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with business stakeholders.
Oversee all financial needs relating to purchasing/procurement.
Strong collaboration with legal, finance and supply chain departments.
Complete high level analysis on purchasing and spending of the company and related accounting.
Complete review and approval of major purchases.
Prioritize procurement needs and ensure that purchases are valid per company strategy.
Manage request for proposal (RFP) processes.
Improve compliance of the procurement process.
Manage the supplier diversity program.
Translate business requirements into clear procurement specifications and expectations through effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Provide wide scope of guidance on the implementation of procurement.
Act as a champion of FMI's Coupa procurement tool - FMIBuy.
Execute upon analysis of global category or market trends as well as information gathering and sourcing strategies for assigned materials and services.
Present research-based recommended opportunities and action plans to Senior Management.
Develop and measure key performance indicators.
Perform risk management data analysis and other forms of analysis on purchasing/procurement.
Supervise direct reports, providing direction, guidance, evaluation and hiring to fill positions as needed.
Additional related duties as assigned.
12+ years of procurement and/or strategic sourcing related experience.
Multiple category procurement experience.
Master's Degree in Business Administration.
CPM or CPSM designation.
Experience in negotiating pricing, contract terms and conditions including statements of work (SOW).
Demonstrated record of successful cost reduction and operational efficiency.
Experience managing projects from source to implementation.
Understanding of the contingent workforce spend category and potential cost levers and market fundamentals.
Strong experience in communication and senior stakeholder management skills supported by strong communication and presentation skills.
Moderate to complex level of financial analysis knowledge including business modeling.
Strong project management, team leadership skills and collaboration mindset.
Demonstrated creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
Demonstrated history of proactivity within challenging or ambiguous situations.
Skill with influencing internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, to achieve the initiative objectives.
Experience working in the pharmaceutical, device or molecular technology industry.
Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data and running diversity supplier programs.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Source-to-Pay applications.
