Subject matter expert and individual contributor able to identify or discover biomarkers that correlate to disease, treatment response and/or clinical endpoint
Serve as functional representative to project teams, provide input and guide biomarker discussions, and confidently lead subteam(s) as needed
Able to perform independent research and formulate biomarker strategies with testable hypotheses to support drug development. Design, execute and troubleshoot experiments, interpret data, synthesize, and communicate conclusions
Develop bioanalytical methods including chemical, protein, nucleotide and/or cell-based methods, optimize for analytical performance and validate to support sample testing in regulated studies
Able to manage & mentor junior scientists or associates as well as manage external work performed at contracted vendors
Multi-task multiple projects, prioritize and allocating efforts appropriately to align with project and/or corporate objectives
Distill complex issues, articulate potential solutions, and prioritize appropriately, but may seek coaching and feedback

Next-Gen Sequencing and/or single-cell analysis and/or transcriptomic/proteomic experience would be a plus
Expertise in cell culture and cell-based assay development and validation including flow cytometry, confocal, reporter and signaling assays (utilizing primary, stem and/or transformed cells) in support of research and development initiatives
Ability to identify relevant biomarkers that connect disease pathophysiology and response to treatment, develop, optimize, and validate biomarker assays in support of pre-clinical and clinical drug studies
Experience in transferring assays to CROs and successful validation and delivery of quality results under tight timelines, either individually or as part of a team
Familiarity with clinical trial and lab manual design for optimum sample collection and processing, sample testing, data analysis and interpretation is preferred
Subject matter expertise in neuroinflammatory and/or neurodegenerative disorders and/or complement-mediated disease is strongly preferred
