Quality Group Manager

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, N.A, assures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards, and testing of products.
Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians and engineers.
Establishes Process Product Inspection Standards by studying manufacturing methods.
Ensure that testing procedures are accurate to customer standards.
Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
Establish rework standards by devising RFMEA.
Establishes Product Quality Documentation System by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Supervises a variety of positions in support of quality management initiatives for NMOA. Positions may include but are not limited to Warranty, Quality Techs, Quality Lab Technicians, Quality Engineers, Metrology Tech, APQP/PPAP Coordinator, Quality Coordinator/Administrator.
Maintain quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies. .
Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions.
Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949
Supports/Implements the ISO14001 Environmental Policy as it pertains to work activities.
Supports/leads New Product Launch activities.
Experience: 5+ years' experience in Quality, 2+ year's supervisory experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree OR 5+ years job experience plus an Associates in Engineering (or similar)
Automotive Industry specific Quality Training Certification(s) the following training courses at time of hire -or - to be included within eighteen months of hire (while supported by Department peers for guidance), as identified by the chart below:
High attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical thinking and working knowledge of various problem-solving techniques (ie paretos, cause and effect, histograms, etc.).
AIAG requirements and technical skills/core tools and knowledge of plating, plastic molding, metal stamping and/or welding desired.
Some knowledge of soldering, electronic components and PCB assembly.
Knowledge of IPC 610, AECQ 100, AECQ 200, and standards in Electronic Industry testing
Excellent written and verbal communication with customers (internal and external)
Green Belt Six Sigma
Automotive industry experience
Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Access).
Familiarity with the implementation of use of various charts, corrective action programs, simple DOE, and other SPC tools.
Quality engineering or manufacturing engineering experience in an automated mass production environment.
Strong hands on experience in IATF 16949
