Consumer Product Strategist, Ecosystems

The Consumer Product Strategy & Insights teams mission is to drive strategic decisions that produce long-term growth for Facebook, Inc. We do so by closely understanding and monitoring trends driving our industry, identifying consumer needs, adding structure to ambiguous problems, and framing key decisions for our leaders. We work closely with product leaders and other cross-functional teams to define and translate our work into actionable insights to influence the long-term product roadmap. As strategists, we are passionate about leveraging quantitative and qualitative signals to inform strategy. We're looking for someone to lead and influence product strategy, with a focus on consumer products (eg, Messaging, Groups, Dating). Successful candidates for this position will have, or develop, a deep understanding of the product landscape, including trends, players, technologies, and underlying dynamics. They will partner with cross-functional teams and communicate their insights and recommendations to product leaders and executives.
Consumer Product Strategist, Ecosystems Responsibilities
Work closely with product leaders and cross-functional teams to influence product strategy decisions aligned with Facebooks mission
Provide sophisticated research and analysis on market trends, customer behaviors, and opportunity sizing, to create data-driven business cases for product investment decisions, spanning build, buy, and partner choices
Leverage data (across Facebook and the market) to uncover key insights in a given market or product space
Effectively present and communicate actionable insights and recommendations to executives, product and business leaders, and cross-functional partners, in order to influence product roadmap decisions
Develop and maintain the role of a trusted advisor with product leaders and cross-functional partners to drive long-term impact
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, User Research, Analytics, Product Marketing, Partnerships and Corporate Development to build insights and recommendations
Partner with Finance, Legal, Communications, Policy and Privacy to ensure business cases and recommendations are robust, and that relevant considerations are incorporated
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, analytics, engineering, or other related quantitative discipline from an institution
5+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy, finance, business operations, corporate strategy, investment banking, or partnerships
2+ years of experience leading strategy projects at a consulting firm, investment bank, or in a corporate strategy team
Experience in analytics and modeling, including advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint (or equivalent), and basic/moderate knowledge of SQL (or aptitude to learn quickly)
Demonstrated experience structuring and solving product problems
Demonstrated experience of presenting to leadership and influencing product decisions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the consumer Internet space, including social, communications, media, and entertainment verticals
Masters' degree or equivalent in business, marketing, analytics, engineering, or other related quantitative discipline (eg MBA)
