So we can continue to help others love how they live in moments that matter, the iconic brand is looking for a driven and passionate professional to raise the bar and join our e-Commerce department as a Director, Digital Experience Design located in our Northbrook, IL corporate office.
The Director, Digital Experience Design will lead a team of UX researchers, designers and production artists to ensure highly usable, intuative and innovative experiences that reinforce each brand's standards.
Lead Digital Product Design (experience strategy, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, user research, and prototyping) for our E-commerce platform, apps and transactional communication to ensure a best in class experience developed in the most efficient manner for all CBH brands.
Partner with eCommerce Leadership to establish strategy and vision for the future of all digital properties.
Ensure design solutions and E-commerce sites are customer-focused, seamlessly omnichannel, intuitive and meet all brand standards.
Design, develop and lead a world class digital product design team.
Maintain full awareness of customer pain points, opportunities to improve conversion and satisfaction and competitive landscape.
Work with each brand to support full customer journey mapping and research and deliver cohesive solutions that ensure best in class, modern E-commerce experiences.
Create a culture of continuous improvement and drive operational efficiencies in the discovery process to allow faster ideation and delivery of design.
Lead team to create and maintain a Digital Design System, including establishment of experience principles, as well as expertise in accessibility and performance best practices.
Build site speed and a culture of performance into all design processes.
Manage all aspects of individual performance and development for the Digital Product Design Team.
Assess strengths and development areas for team while encourage professional growth and expanding skill sets.
Lead senior leaders and teams to drive phenomenal stories and support.
Drive continuous improvement in the E-commerce teams' work processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Set goals and deadlines, organize work flows and schedules, and assign work to members of the teams.
Implement productivity standards and monitor team productivity, and appraise team performance.
Provide constructive feedback and coaching, counseling, and discipline to members of the copywriting team.
Inspire the team, partners and ultimately our customers with ideas, stories and insights.

Bachelors degree in design, HCI or equivalent
12+ years experience in a Digital Product Design role (User Researcher, Product Designer, Visual Designer, UX Designer, Information Architect, or Interaction Designer)
5+ years experience managing and leading teams of User Researchers, Interaction or Visual Designers in eCommerce; retail industry a plusSketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc...) and Apple computer operating system required
Expert knowledge of user interface design patterns and user-centered design methodologies across multiple platforms (desktop, mobile, apps)
Knowledge with HTML/CSS, wireframe document software tools (Axure, Visio, OmniGraffle, or similar); remote usability testing software services, InVision and other prototyping tools a plus
Experience with Agile, Design Thinking, and User Centered Design
Strong Communication skills - including the ability to present design solutions and research findings with clear rationale behind decision making, clear and concise written communication, and good interpersonal skills
Strong Leadership skills - including the ability to assess team and individual strengths and development areas, ensuring the team is properly staffed and challenged
Strong Project Management skills - able to manage multiple projects and meet all necessary deadlines
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptiveness, collaborating with other associatesAbility to work in a highly collaborative cross-functional team environment that partners design with business stakeholders, and Technology
Integrate and utilize customer feedback from site analytics, A/B testing, and voice of customer managers to improve user experience
Maintain the highest level of understanding of current user needs, use cases and functionality
Good reading, written and verbal language skills (English)
