PARC's Data Science Group has an opening for a machine learning researcher. The candidate should have a desire to work on problems with real-world impact and have strong implementation skills to create early-stage prototypes.
An ideal candidate would be a versatile generalist responsible for developing and applying algorithms for a wide range of applications. The candidate is expected to support both foundational and applied research projects, so the role requires good knowledge of applied machine learning techniques as well as familiarity with current research in fundamental ML, specifically, hybrid machine learning/physics-based variants.
A few examples of ongoing work include pattern recognition in images, anomaly detection in machinery using streaming sensor data, and large-scale remote sensing data analysis. The candidate might take on various roles within the project ranging from developing robust algorithms to working with data engineers to deploy them as a service or to be integrated into a software platform.
Good knowledge of statistical and machine learning modeling concept
Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning model development-experience using sklearn, Tensorflow, Pytorch
Experience with structured and unstructured dataset
Familiarity working with vision-based data sets
Fluent in R, Python-dataset exploration, model building, inference and visualization, familiarity with coding guidelines
Optional Skills: An ideal candidate would additionally possess some of the following skills:
Large-scale dataset analysis-experience using Spark or Hadoop framework, SQL/PostgreSQL, xarray, dask
Familiarity with GPU programming
Experience in network analysis and sensor data fusion
Experience in AWS or Azure deployment, contribution to open-source projects, Kaggle competitions.
Familiarity with continuous integration
Plan and execute cutting-edge ML research in cross-disciplinary projects across PARC's hardware and software labs.
Help generate proposals for new fundamental research
Help generate compelling hypotheses to drive new business creation.
Mentor interns and collaborate with PARC researchers as well as external R&D groups to advance our research goals.
Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences
