Senior Director, Regional Accounts

Responsible for providing strategic account leadership to assigned Region. Responsible for managing a team of Strategic and Regional Account Managers to deliver the milestones, deliverables, and financial/non-financial targets in the Account Strategy and provide relationship, satisfaction and retention of for complex, high profile regional customers. Directly manages C-suite relationships in the Region as the lead client contact for the Company. Responsible for developing and implementing regional strategies and policies relating to growing enterprise Specialty sales through the Company's Prime joint venture. Additional responsibilities include execution of Key Account plans and increasing new retail business access and sales.
Overall accountability for a Regional book of business to maximize revenue, increase market share and ensure profitable access by leading the collaborative development, coordination, and implementation of sales strategies to include C suite level interaction at the customer level. Responsible for financial objectives of segments.
Develops and aligns regional strategy with Company executives, Key Account Leads, Divisional leaders and Operations leadership with focus on regional alignment and business unit objectives related to pull through opportunities and contract optimization.
Responsible for developing and implementing regional strategies and policies relating to growing enterprise Specialty sales through the Company's Prime joint venture.
Sets direction and strategy, as well as day-to-day management of regional account team.
Responsible for assessing, designing and implementing account management strategy, philosophy and practices. Drives consistent account management practices throughout his/her assigned subordinates to ensure profitable client relationships and client satisfaction.
Responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating of all SOP's to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal rules, regulations and guidelines. Ensures compliance of subordinate team members and ensure client awareness of legislative change requirements.
Responsible for leading a team of assigned Strategic Accounts staff and for the appropriate utilization of resources to include: staffing, pay change recommendations, performance management, manpower planning, assigning work, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies. Champions diversity initiatives within his/her organization and throughout the company.
Creates implements and assesses a client services models targeted at optimizing client satisfaction and retention. May play an integral role in a team approach in closing a potential client. Functions as a tier two escalation for adverse client service matters.
Provides leadership, direction, coaching, and counseling to a team of assigned Strategic Accounts staff to ensure optimal efficiency and client satisfaction.
Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience of direct or indirect (such as marketing, contracting and implementation) client/account management responsibilities OR a high school diploma/GED and at least 11 years' of experience of direct or indirect (such as marketing, contracting, implementation) client/account management responsibilities.
Experience in leading initiatives and having P&L responsibility in one or more of these areas: marketing, contracting, operations, and/or sales management.
Experience coordinating and facilitating executive management meetings.
Experience collaborating with internal and external resources, to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font style and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, aligning text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).
Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: inserting, rearranging, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, increasing list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing outline view and/or running a slide show).
Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions).
At least 5 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
At least 5 years of direct team leadership and cross-functional team leadership experience.
Willing to travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Master's degree or MBA
Healthplan or PBM experience
Pharmaceutical industry experience
