The Regulatory Policy & Industry Relations Director will define and lead influencer strategy and execute plans to better educate regulators and industry influencers about Landis+Gyrs resources, solutions, and perspectives, Including but not limited to:
Organizing and facilitating executive roundtables to gain insights and inform our strategic decision making process.
Engaging with senior utility leaders to raise awareness and visibility of Landis+Gyr as an authority on regulatory policy topics including rates, reliability, and renewable energy.
Developing a network of professionals that represent Landis+Gyr in the marketplace as spokespeople and advocates on topics that are essential to Landis+Gyrs strategies.
Engaging, advocating, and educating in key regulatory jurisdictions that support the company's must wins and top pursuits.
Managing policy contractors and leading industry association relationships: NARUC, AEE, Gridwise Alliance and SEPA
Growing awareness and involvement among state and federal regulatory communities.
Sharing information through monthly reports, relevant topic updates, and quarterly briefings; involvement in industry associations, speaking opportunities, in-person events, and resource allocation (money and time) to ensure high-value decisions.


Key Responsibilities:


Serve as an internal Proxy (ie voice of the customer) for the regulatory policy & industry relations customer segment including; perspective on trends and opportunities, understand the segment's unique perspective on business challenges and technology/solution preferences.


Act as internal subject matter expert on regulatory policy and industry priorities, policy impacts, and business decision practices.


Responsible for contributing to and creating segment-specific messaging for Landis+Gyr collateral that supports the sales process and external communication plans.


Represent Landis+Gyr at industry association meetings and events, informing and developing a strong knowledge of company issues in advance, identifying actions at the event, and demonstrating strong follow-up on action items with metrics-based key performance indicators.


Establish a plan to drive segment-specific communications through use of internal resources or authorized external resources and marketing channels.


Identify, collect, and translate segment-specific market analysis with the support of the team's business analysts to quantify and define top customer opportunities within the segment. Identify profitable sub-segment opportunities to target with marketing and/or sales efforts.


Hold key leadership positions in industry organizations, speaking publicly and participating actively.


Establish regular communication and education sessions for executives, sales, and marketing stakeholders, focused on segment drivers.
- Collect, analyze, and report segment findings for Business Reviews.
- Establish relevant and impactful C-level relationships in the regulatory and industry community
- Coach, advise, and influence account executives and solutions directors in leveraging regulatory and industry association messaging for account strategy and RFP responses.
- Actively participate as the key engagement director for specific customer accounts assigned by the head of sales.

Education and Experience:


Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelors Degree
Required Minimum Years of Experience: 10+ to 15


Desired Education/Experience: Degree in Business or Engineering


INDUSTRY SEGMENT SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
Experience or deep knowledge of utility-industry segment, either co-operative + municipals OR investor owned.
Demonstrated ability to articulate segment priorities, underlying reasoning and thought or business processes behind decision-making and trends/specifics of policy or regulatory pressures.
Experience with industry-associations that represents the balance between L+G and the customer segment being represented.


BUSINESS AND MARKETING ACUMEN
Demonstrated ability to structure a compelling business case or persuasive reasoning that links how our solutions solve customers problems.
Demonstrated ability to write narrative, develop marketing presentations, structure positioning and underlying drivers/reasoning.
Quantitative business acumen to evaluate and contribute to the development and justification of sales promotions.
