The Sr. Director of Supply Chain Planning is responsible for the management of the Demand and Supply Planning teams to coordinate sales demand processes, direct the activities of the demand planners to create the demand plans and forecasts for our global key retailers and ensure forecast accuracy goals are met. Additionally, the Sr. Director will be is responsible for the inventory and supply function with the charter to create and implement the inventory and supply planning strategy to ensure on-time delivery of quality products to meet customer demand efficiently and cost effectively.
This position will be responsible for implementing Best Practices globally to improve Legacy item forecasting, product roadmap planning, promotional analysis/recommendations, ABC planning philosophy, inventory management to goals including safety stock, turns, excess and total $ globally. This position will also be responsible for direct collaboration with Sales Analysts, Sales Managers and Demand/Supply/Inventory planners globally. This is the anchor position of the overall order fulfillment strategy working with customers, suppliers and distribution to ensure we meet customer expectations. In addition, this position will work collaboratively with the entire Supply Chain team to determine the appropriate finished goods inventory levels required to maintain proper service levels while keeping working capital investments in line with corporate goals.
The Sr. Director will build forecasting analytical tools and be able to measure and explain forecast accuracy, Mean Average Percent Error (MAPE) and bias to the organization. This position will build the tools to maintain accurate ABC analysis, supplier purchasing processes and inventory management processes. The role will establish with supply chain business analyst, metrics, dashboards, targets and develop the demand and supply management Business Intelligence tools to drive improvement in service, inventory and data integrity. This role will lead the integrated business planning process for Kids II and provide tools, direction and guidance to the core team and deliver the monthly Business Plan packet to the Executive team.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Develop and manage the Demand/Supply/Inventory Planning and Promotional Planning processes to improve forecast accuracy and drive incremental sales growth by determining key market needs/trends.
Develops methodologies for forecasting key accounts vs. 2nd tier to improve resource utilization and increase top-line forecast accuracy and improve working capital.
Forecasting
Develop detailed monthly and annual demand forecasts for our products globally.
Responsible for daily/weekly forecast management based upon POS trends.
Create, document and publish processes both internally and externally to achieve a high standard of forecast accuracy at the SKU/Account level and drive sustainable and repeatable results that are person neutral.
Work with Analysts to develop more accurate initial launch plans based on like item historical Organizationels, RCA and competitive activities and specific retail POG layouts and competitive review.
Develop effective tracking mechanisms to respond to product trending more rapidly thru system tools. Work with business analyst and IT to create metrics, dashboards, value add reporting tools that clearly articulate the value and improvements in demand management.
Through effective demand planning processes, maintain lean inventory levels while meeting on time delivery goals to customers.
Review excess, slow moving and obsolete inventory and collaboratively work with Sales and Business Analysis to develop strategies to minimize the impact.
Produce weekly status and performance reports relevant to demand planning process and its impact to company goals.
Develop monthly S&OP process to deliver the business plan that is aligned with corporate strategy.
Oversee monthly review cycles to ensure product trending as well as all external factors are incorporated into the forecasting process.
Manage the Demand Management Reporting process to facilitate consistent and actionable information flow to the organization.
Initiate changes to improve performance and support the organization in meeting cost, quality and delivery goals.
Inventory and Supply
Guide the global inventory and supply planning strategy to ensure processes and procedures yield optimal inventory turns, minimized shortage and excess, and acceptable PPV. Drive creation, documentation and implementation processes to improve efficiencies and provide sustainable, repeatable, person neutral flow of activity through the department.
Working with the Director, Inventory to create and utilize analytical tools to assure inventory alignment and support with the Business forecast and revenue expectations.
Responsible for managing inventory projections, budgets, establish improvement targets for turns, total inventory $ and excess.
Strategically manage global inventory levels to maximize service levels, minimize excess and stock outs and ensure sustainable and acceptable cash flow for Kids II.
Drive automation on inventory and production processes. Create, implement and manage value add reporting to clearly show inventory, supply, shortage and service status and trends. Work with Business Analyst to define inventory buckets, shortage impact by customer and product to produce reports that accurately reflect the status of key metrics. Ensure metrics and measures are developed into dashboards the organization can use to gauge the health of supply and inventory planning.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


20 + years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Global Consumer product/retail experience desirable.
E commerce experience desirable.
Lean/six sigma experience desirable.


EDUCATION & SKILLS


Minimum Bachelors degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university - Supply Chain degree preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


APICS or other forecasting certification preferred.
