The Quality Manager leads, coordinates and performs activities associated with the Quality Management System (QMS) as it relates to manufacturing. This includes responsibility for all process control, (scrap tracking and reporting), quality continuous improvement, strategic processes and programs related to manufacturing operations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Lead all quality activities and initiatives related to manufacturing
Drive the compliance of all product regulatory and audit activities
Support the quality management system where applicable within the internal sites
Support the electronic quality database within current quality management system
Implement and support quality policies, procedures, and quality system development as required for plant operations and suppliers
Drive the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and coordination of prototype, pre-launch, and launch part qualification runs with suppliers and manufacturing
Review, conduct and approve Quality Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Modes Effects and Analysis (PFMEA), Gage R&R's
Maintain quality metrics Material Non-conformances, PPAP performance, etc
Manage and develop direct report(s)
Manage quality customer complaint process and metrics (customer & consumer)
Support all social compliance programs and activities as applicable
Develop quality metric goals annually and provide KPI reports for category performance and product quality
Drive measurement techniques and statistical data analysis techniques
Conduct audits and report findings to determine proper corrective and preventive actions
Provide fact-based quality analyses
Coordinate the timely review of customer complaints, thorough analysis of root causes, and effective implementation of corrective actions.
Contribute to a monthly departmental Quality Report
Promote continuous improvement activities


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical or science discipline
5 years of operations/manufacturing experience preferred
5 years supplier quality experience
Hands on experience with Lean and Six Sigma
Management experience and the proven ability to work in a Matrix organization required
Thorough knowledge of quality methods and systems (statistics, reliability, sampling and auditing)
ISO/QS/TS quality system working knowledge and auditing experience
ASQ certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Manager (CQM) is preferred
An experienced background in various types of manufacturing. Specific knowledge in the plastics, metals, or electrical commodities is preferred
Superior interpersonal and communication skills are essential for dealing with all levels of internal and external suppliers and customers
