The Competitive & Market Intelligence Manager is the chief competitive analyst for the company and the heart and soul of monitoring, synthesizing, and responding to competitive and market activity. The manager position will lead our competitive intelligence practice internally and coordinate movement with a wide range of internal stakeholders. The Competitive & Market Intelligence Manager is a critical role in our Strategy Team, and we are looking for a high-performing, experienced candidate who can make a significant and immediate contribution to the team.


Specific Responsibilities


Optimize and manage our competitive & market intelligence process that monitors, measures, reports on critical competitive/market activity


Lead a wide range of high visibility projects to answer urgent strategic questions from C-level executives


Collaborates with cross-functional teams to analyze the value chains where our businesses compete (retailer/customer trends, competitive threats, new technologies, and other opportunities or barriers) and identify strategic moves that enhance the company's position


Performs industry, competitor, and retailer/customer analysis; monitors and evaluates the impact of trends; watches for critical opportunities and barriers; gathers quantitative/qualitative data, conducts research, and derives forward-looking insights; coordinates with Sales & Marketing to ensure a consistent view of the marketplace.


Guide scenario construction or wargaming as it relates to responding to market activity


Create presentations to effectively communicate the results of the team's research and analysis to stakeholders at all levels


Work Experience/Qualifications


5-7 years experience in corporate strategy and competitive/industry analysis
Managed or led an internal competitive intelligence process
Experience systematically monitoring customer, market, and competitive activity
Ability to synthesize bits of unrelated information to develop actionable insights on competitor & market activity
Great attention to detail, including demonstrated ability to drive to second-order insights
Process oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills, maturity, and sound judgment
A desire and comfort in working in a changing, fluid, ambiguous environment
Self-starter able to work independently and comfortable interacting up, down, and across the organization
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems
Bachelors Degree preferred in Marketing, Finance, Economics, Engineering, MBA is a plus
