Senior Manager, Demand Planning

The Sr. Manager of Demand Planning is responsible for developing and maintaining an unbiased rolling 24-month unit forecast at the item level for their key account using current forecasting methodologies to enhance forecast accuracy (WFA), minimize forecast bias, and optimize inventory levels while achieving mutual financial objectives and expected customer service levels.
Additionally, this role requires a working knowledge of APO/IBP and a curiosity of how to utilize the Embedded algorithms to drive forecast creation.
Responsibilities: Demand Planning Operations
For the short, medium, and long-term develops a data-driven perspective on POS expectations, inventory levels, and competitive marketplace dynamics to enhance the creation of an unbiased 24 month rolling forecast that utilizes a combination of statistical algorithms and manual overrides.
Through a Demand Review meeting, and utilizing a standardized template, drives collaboration of the monthly planning cycle with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations to obtain necessary internal alignment on the item level forecast.
Proficiency in APO/IBP Demand Planning software and the ability to interpret results from other internal operational support software such as Apollo, Forecast Metrics, and IBB.
Proactively identifies risks and opportunities to Plan achievement and works collaboratively to ensure the appropriate level of activity is applied to resolve - including the need to respect lead-time.
Champions alignment of strategy, promotional activity, domestic backup, and any other special inventory purchases to maximize sell-in and sell-thru of both our seasonal and non-seasonal businesses.
Proactively reviews customer and organizational plans with Supply Chain representatives in order to ensure alignment on inventory targets.
Works collaboratively with Supply Chain representatives to identify supply gaps and offer solutions to minimize out of stock or fill rate issues. Assists in the Identification of strategies and solutions to handle disposition of unproductive inventory unique to the account.
Manages the outlier process; works closely with Sales to identify opportunities or risks to the forecast that require Supply Chain approval prior to entering the forecast.
Responsibilities: Reporting, Communication, and Planning
Provides visibility to weekly orders versus forecast to all members of team and assess potential mix issues and impact to the future forecast.
Supports annual planning and bridge exercises through the preparation of detailed analysis of current and future forecasts based on expected market conditions. Identifies opportunities, risks, and new product expectations.
Influences customer representatives by offering suggested orders to support in-stock management and ensures weekly forecast alignment.
Anticipates potential supply chain issues and actively communicates to customer teams. Offers potential solutions in conjunction with appropriate supply team member.
Develops expert knowledge of all account business practices related to and/or including ordering patterns, inventory flow, inventory policy, and warehouse pulls and triggers.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or Operations.
5+ years' experience in demand planning, supply planning, or related field
Proven business management experience working across organization and varying levels of leadership
Proven ability to simply and succinctly communicate complex and analytical conclusions
Successful experience in data analytics
Experienced in balancing self-managed tasks and projects with management led activities and requirements.
Excellent PC skills with an emphasis on experience with advanced planning systems and Excel
