Chewy is looking for a Corporate Counsel, Generalist to join our Legal Team based in Dania Beach, Florida. The Corporate Counsel, Generalist position is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a fast-paced, dynamic Legal Department supporting all aspects of the organization with respect to a broad spectrum of legal issues, such as compliance, litigation, workplace health and safety issues, and any other topics needed by the business. This position will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel position and will use their legal skills to contribute to the operations of the business.

What Youll Do:

Manage and respond to actual and threatened litigation, complaints, and claims, as well as government agency investigations and inquiries
Provide ongoing guidance and consultation regarding potential and actual disputes
Coordinate with and effectively manage outside counsel with respect to litigation and other matters
Develop and deliver proactive training to business leaders and teams on a wide variety of matters, including preparing best practices and enhancing training materials
Develop and review programs, policies, and procedures to ensure multi-jurisdictional compliance and prevent, detect, and resolve potential misconduct
Advise business teams regarding operational compliance and emerging regulatory changes affecting compliance obligations under federal, state, and local laws (g., compliance with FCPA, SOX, TCPA, etc.)
Serve as a trusted advisor and partner to colleagues at all levels of the organization
Undertake multijurisdictional research projects on various other topics, as may be requested from time to time
Being a team player and a corporate generalist who is willing to take on a variety of tasks

What Youll Need:

JD from an accredited school with exceptional academic credentials
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a top law firm or in-house counsel position, including experience with litigation and a broad spectrum of legal issues. Subject-matter expertise in compliance is strongly preferred
Member in good standing with the Florida Bar or eligible to attain Florida house counsel exemption
Be able to manage litigation and investigations internally, as well as manage outside counsel
Ability to think strategically and evaluate potential risks to the Company, including economic, legal and reputational
Interest in, and preferably experience with, operational compliance work
Be a team-player who can lead internal projects and initiatives
Develop creative and compliant solutions to assist in resolving complicated issues
Ability to think on your feet to independently identify risks and formulate strategies regarding same. Position requires experience providing advice and counseling to business clients at various levels of the organization
Excellent organizational and analytical skills. This position requires fast-paced multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues involving business partners in various locations
Display the highest level judgment, ethical conduct, and integrity
Candidate should possess empathy, excellent professional judgment, and a good sense of humor
Position may require travel
