Lead Category Manager

The Lead Category Manager creates the overall direction associated within the assigned programs and/or commodities. You will proactively develop sourcing strategies with other leaders within H&R Block. You will then drive execution while ensuring alignment with the overall program and business goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and manage internal relationships with business owners, finance, legal, supplier risk and HRB leadership
Develop sourcing strategies for assigned category contract lifecycle
Manage and lead sourcing process from need identification to contract execution for assigned suppliers
Category Management focusing on big picture (price, growth, trends, quality, innovation)
Ability to manage and balance relationships with strategic suppliers
Understand and monitor key spend trends with HRB
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
Bachelor's degree in related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.
Minimum of 7 years of commercial and/or government sourcing experience in all facets of the assigned commodities
Ability to translate business strategy into sourcing strategy
Advanced negotiation skills
Leads as a subject matter expert in the contract review/edit/execution process
Proficiency in RFP/RFQ/RFI initiatives
Strong communication and presentation skills
Exceptional planning and organization skills
Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate across multiple internal stakeholder groups
Experience with Excel, Word, Sharepoint
