The Company Able Bridge Recruitment are currently partnering with a well known and highly regarded playing in their field. A vacancy for a human resources manager has arisen, that we have been exclusively invited to support them with, due to a significant growth in their order book. This post is a newly created role that will report into the senior finance controller. Whilst this role will report into a senior employee, it is effectively a stand-alone position. The Responsibilities The purpose of the role is to provide business partnering support to the leadership team of our client and also act as a point of contact for the widder employees of the business. Your primary function will be to ensure that disciplinaries proceedings are handled correctly, that employees are provided with all of the physical and emotional conditions that they require. You will also be accountable for the talent attraction strategy, retention rates and general onboarding process. Your remit will also include reviewing contracts of employment, pay scales and collation of various statistics such as absenteeism. The role is currently a broad post that will evolve over time. There is a strong possibility that the successful applicant will, in time, hire additional staff into the HR team and tasks such as training /development and organisational change will evolve into the role. The Requirements Our client is based on the outskirts of Edinburgh, is easily commutable by public transport but also offers free parking should you wish to drive to the office. The successful applicant will be managing (from an HR perspective), more than one site and will be in contact with everyone from the managing director to the staff at the coal face. As such, we are seeking strong communicators who are able to influence all stakeholders. Applicants need to be aware that this is a newly created role that will require an element of bringing people along a journey in the sense that they are not used to having a designated HR presence. The environment is friendly with a mix of blue collar works around 80/20 to white collar employees. Applicants need to be comfortable, confident and in their element in either the office or the shop floor. We would expect the successful applicant to have experienced from a manufacturing/engineering or similar industry sector.
